Since 2012, he has served as CEO and Director of CBLT Inc., a junior exploration mining company focused on acquiring and developing high-impact assets in ethical mining jurisdictions. Peter's extensive experience includes raising capital, structuring complex transactions, and ensuring compliance across various sectors. As Director and VP of Capital Markets at Silver Bullet Mines Corp. since 2020, he has been instrumental in revitalizing historic silver mines in Arizona and Idaho, managing oversubscribed financings, and serving as de facto General Counsel for governance matters.
Beyond these roles, Peter brings dynamic leadership and sharp strategic insights to every project he undertakes. His keen investment acumen, honed over years of involvement in both debt and equity transactions, has made him a valuable asset in identifying and capitalizing on lucrative opportunities in the mining sector. As an Independent Director at Camrova Mining and Searchlight Resources Inc., he has played a critical role in guiding these companies through capital market challenges and positioning them for long-term success. Mr. Atkins has 30 years of experience as a skilled mining executive, with over 15 years focusing on rare earth projects. Mr. Atkins has played a critical role in establishing two rare earth operations, Mt. Weld with Lynas Corp. and Nechalacho with Vital Metals Ltd. Mr. Atkins was responsible for functions including the construction of the Mt. Weld project and developing long-term strategic plans at Lynas. He utilized his skills to found Cheetah Resources, a private rare earth development company, and acquired the rights to the Nechalacho rare earth project in the Northwest Territories, Canada. Following the acquisition of Cheetah by Vital Metals, Mr. Atkins led the team to successfully bring the Nechalacho North T project into production within two years of finalizing its acquisition.
Mr. Atkins' success is based on evaluating each project's specific attributes to formulate the optimum development plan, maximizing shareholder returns while minimizing development timelines. Nechalacho best demonstrated this approach and was the first new rare earth project brought into production in nearly 10 years. Mr. Atkins is currently undertaking a range of strategic advisory roles within the critical minerals sector, including assisting Ucore Rare Metals with the establishment of the Louisiana Strategic Minerals Complex. He is also a Director of the Critical Minerals Institute and the Managing Partner of Strategic Minerals Group (SMG), a team of critical minerals experts who advise companies throughout the entire project lifecycle, from resource definition to development activities and ultimately operations.
